I have multiple books to work from based on the age and skill level of the student. I work fundamentals with all levels and can teach topics from multiple angles. My music library is expanding and becoming more diverse so that I give work solos with all of my students. I have been teaching band in the Dallas Independent School District for 25 years as of 2019 and privately as well. I really enjoy working with students privately the most. I have also performed professionally with several bands as well over the past 30 years and currently. I love helping musicians of all ages to improve their performance skills and confidence in presenting them. For beginner students who are children, I usually start with the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has advanced to where I can see that they have a good grasp of the fundamentals of the instrument, that is typically when I begin to introduce solo repertoire and supplement with my own material.
