Since that time, I've taught students on Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet at all levels, from beginners all the way to advanced players in high school. My focus as an undergraduate was in jazz performance, and I love to teach about jazz techniques, beginning to advanced improvisation, and group dynamics. For my beginning students who are children, I typically start with Standard Of Excellence. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
