I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. I am from Beaumont, Tx where I began to learn saxophone and participated in concert band, marching band, and small ensembles. I then attended Texas Southern University where I graduated with a degree in music performance with a minor in African American studies. While in college I participated in marching band, wind ensemble, and became a member Kappa Kappa Psi national honorary band fraternity. I have also played with local ensembles around ranging from wind ensemble to popular music local bands in the funk, ska, and rock genres. Read More
