Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I have been playing Flute for almost 40 years, Bassoon and Saxophone for 35. I have at one time or another played with some of the world's best ensembles (i.e. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) and in some of the very best venues in with world (i.e. Royal Albert Hall in London). I can accomodate different styles of learning, from technical textbook-style lessons, to a looser, ear-based approach. At the base of my teaching style are the fundamentals of music, which create the foundation for all the other types of skills you may want to learn. I enjoy starting with the basics for beginners, making sure we begin with some foundational theory. But we may choose a different starting point depending on your experience and skill level. I believe in the philosophy of and empty cup. My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. There is no "cookie cutter" method that works for all students, because everyone learns and comprehends a little bit differently. I remain sensitive to that and patient with my students. It always gets me when a student that is stuck on a part of their music finally understands and performs the passage perfectly. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I try to meet my students at the crossover of challenging while keep them engaged and having fun. Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Read More
