Every student should be challenged, but nobody should ever feel as if music is some form of art that is lost on them. I’m a Texas native, from San Antonio! I found music when I was about 11 years old, and I was completely obsessed with Bob Dylan and Bob Marley! Because I couldn’t afford lessons, I learned as much theory as I could online. After playing in some bands in high school, I applied for the music program at Trinity University! For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the lesson books you or I provide, preferably Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.
