It all started when I took my first drum lesson in the 4th grade. From then on, I wanted to play whenever I could. I played in all my school bands from middle school to high school. Graduated Southern University, home of the world famous "Human Jukebox" which I was a member of for 3 years, as well as playing for my church since I was 13. I was a full time public school band director for four years, and have taught all the way to the college level and adults, teaching classes in jazz studies and private lessons on saxophone. For my beginner saxophone students we will start by assembling the instrument and using the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements to learn the basic fingerings and songs. As for my beginner piano students we will start off with the Faber Piano Adventures book and work our way through the lessons.
