Watching my students eyes light up as they reach that "eureka! I understand!" moment is so rewarding, both to me as the instructor and to the student. Every child reaches different milestones at a different time so with that being said I never pressure the child to learn faster than he/she is capable of. Gilels, First Prize at the International Competition in Memory of Prokofiev, and Second Prize at the International Competition in Memory of A. Karamanov. In 2008, I continued winning competitions: I won First Prize in the “Music World” International Competition in Italy. I have used a wide variety of method books. I feel very comfortable with any book in the Alfred's series, Piano Adventures, Bastien, Playtime Piano, etc. However, in many cases, I often select songs/material outside of lesson books to keep lessons interesting. As a musician who needs motivation to practice, I know that practicing material that I like to be essential. The same applies to my students. If we are working on a piece that the student enjoys listening to, the student will be more motivated to practice. Read More
