Piano:  I have played piano since I was 7 .  I have been teaching piano privately for the past 5-10 years in my home or in a studio.   I encourage students to learn to read music well and also learn about the composer and the musical intentions behind each piece. Harp:  I have played harp since I was 18 and perform regularly.  I have taught privately for the past 5-10 years and I can teach various techniques and repetiore that I have learned over the years.  I also believe and want to pass on love and respect for the instrument. If a student isn't having fun learning the instrument then I am doing something wrong! Learning should be fun and a joy not a chore. I try to encourage the students to practice without being told to do so. With that comes a joy of doing it on your own and for themselves not for anyone else. If a student comes in as a beginner, I will teach them the notes first, then reading on the staff and chords. I try to encourage everyone to learn how to read music, but certain students prefer to learn pieces quicker, in which case I can speed up the process by telling them the notes to play. I constantly ask the students for the piece that they want to play themselves and I encourage them to try them even if they feel like it appears too difficult. Read More
