Overview:
My name is Dante . I have over 10 years experience as a professional working musician. I attended Winston Salem State University for Music Business and have been fortunate to work in The Carolinas, Atlanta, Chicago, as well as right here at home in the Philadelphia/South Jersey region. Previously I taught piano and music theory at The Moorestown Recreation Center as part of a non profit program for children and young teens. My areas of specialty include chordal theory, jazz theory, piano technique, and incorporation of pop forms of music into a classroom style setting to engage and inspire young musicians.
EXPERIENCE
I've been fortunate to have some pretty amazing students in the past. The most rewarding part of any teachers job is seeing their students develop into better people, musicians, and instrumentalists through hard work and fun discoveries. Many of my students have gone on, or continued, to pursue careers in some form of music while many have not. Yet a common thred amongst them is a deeply rooted appreciation for music both as an art form and a science. It's time to finally turn your dreams of playing an instrument into a reality! Together, we can shed years of frustrating and boring practice off of your journey in music.
METHODS USED
I believe in developing five core areas in musicianship: Theory/Understanding, Technique, Creativity, Reading, and Versatility. Initial lessons will identify the students strong points and weak points, and a personal strategy will be employed to help strengthen and balance the student overall. Many beginning classical musicians are able to read fairly well but have little to no comprehension of how and why the music works; while many contemporary musicians may have "chops" but lack in their ability to read and/or have proper technique. Together, we can bridge the gap between classical and contemporary musicians and develop all of my students into well rounded musicians!
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style is fun, easy, and rewarding! I believe in making the complicated and advanced concepts accessible to beginners. I enjoy allowing the student the freedom to explore while providing the necessary guidelines to guide their minds through the journey of music. Class should never being boring and homework should always be engaging and challenging! Together , we'll look at some of your favorite songs and discover the magic that makes that song such a hit! We'll also discover how those principles apply in classical and other contemporary genres of music.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
