I am a composer, pianist, and singer with extensive performing and teaching experience across the U.S. and in Germany and in France, Norway, and Sweden. I have performed as a soloist and ensemble member in operas and choruses and as a pianist have performed with singers, instrumentalists, choirs, and ballet companies across the U.S. and in Europe. Guitar: For beginners who are kids, I usually start with the FJH Beginner Guitar Method, while also implementing fun melodies they know that can be played on single strings. Once the student has progressed a bit, we will work in chords, more advanced rhythms, and songs appropriate for a recital. For older beginners, I usually start with Hal Leonard's Complete Guitar Method, while again finding songs that match their musical taste and working towards their specific goals (i.e., I really want to start a punk band with my friends next summer, or I'd love to play this Taylor Swift song at the school talent show). Haeyoon is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music where she received Masters degree with a full scholarship under the Performance 20/20 program, a prestigious chamber-intensive program. She began her chamber studies soon after starting cello with her siblings and have performed in community events and ceremonies since. She is a winner of many competitions, including: the Regional Solo Ensemble Competition at the high school level, a series of first prizes at the Renton Young Artists Competition, the Marjorie Easley National Strings Competition, and the Individualis International Competition.
