Instruments: Piano Voice
I have started teaching shortly before college, and have a proven track record of working as an independent instructor and part of teaching collectives. I am a member in good standing with both MTNA and MSMTA, and have been consistently teaching students out of my home studio for the past 15 years. With younger students, I prefer emphasizing habit formation, such as setting a practice schedule, regularly committing to a set amount of practicing time, and develop a passion for the piano. Watching a student develop their playing is an incredibly gratifying experience for me as a teacher. To help encourage this,I put a great effort into connecting with the student's interests from day one. With each lesson, I work with them to set goals that are within their reach, while maintaining a relaxed, self-paced learning environment that is both fun and comfortable. My teaching style incorporates both traditional, and non-traditional techniques, all customized to meet each person's own unique needs. Read More

Music is supposed to be fun. I love to incorporate actually playing music as much as possible and keep exercises to a minimum. This keeps lessons fresh and gives them a sense of progression. I’m laid back as a person and put that in my teaching but I am focused and consistent. I was a beginner at one time as well and understand the frustrations of beginning a new instrument. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Saxophone Clarinet
I started teaching private lessons in college, about four or five years ago. I have taken students on several different instruments, mainly saxophone, piano and guitar. I find that it is important to encourage students to play and practice the type of music they enjoy, and to have fun performing and learning. I also believe that students should play in recitals, bands, and get other performance experiences while taking private lessons in order to improve their overall musicianship. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Trombone Bass Guitar
I like to focus evenly in three areas: music fundamentals, technique, and ear training. I like to identify goals with each student, as well as identify the weaknesses standing in the way of improvement. Read More
