I want to make sure my students are comfortable with what they are doing even when they are outside of their comfort zone. There is such a thing as too far so pushing them outside their limit is unhelpful in a private lesson. I want the student to feel excited and accomplished in what they are doing because everyone's musical journey is different, even if students are starting from the same skill level they will have different things they have to work on to become better musicians.
