My teaching style is fun, exciting, fresh, modern, educational, and accessible. My teaching philosophy is that music-making should be 50% fun and 50% productive. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how the voice works, what works best for your voice, how to use language as an avenue for healthy singing, and try new things you might need more clarification on at first. Voice lessons should be about how to utilize your voice in the way you want and that is precisely what students should expect from me. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to high school when I started teaching cello to students in my school district's orchestra program. Since then, I have continued to teach freelance through personal connections, Musika, and various non-profit organizations. Furthermore, I am currently in my internship to become a board certified music therapist, and have experience teaching music to individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and dementia/Alzheimer's. I challenge my students to reach their potential while making sure they have the room to thrive in a safe and fun environment. Read More

I believe that the goal of music lessons is to discover what each student wants to achieve. Therefore, I seek to use different methods, lessons, and exercises that will work toward what each individual wishes to accomplish for themselves. If we can work together on a particular piece of music or a song that a student wants to learn, then there is a goal to accomplish and it is fun to reach that goal! Read More

I try to assess each student and develop an individual learning plan for them based on their goals, expectations, and ambitions. Typically for classical piano students, I use Alfred’s curriculum (both the student and Adult levels depending on need) and once a classical foundation is learned, we venture into ear training and learning a variety of genres. For voice students, I start with a full vocal assessment and then based on their desired outcomes, work the client to set a course of learning individualized for them. Read More

For students who are starting off, no matter their age, I will first test their range so that I know what I am working with and then I will test how well they can match pitch. If they struggle with matching pitch I will then run exercises with them where we will start going over solfege in simple patterns so that they can start developing their voice and an understanding of pitches and a scale. I'm a driven, passionate person who loves music. My goal in being a teacher is to bring that feeling of fun, satisfaction, and calm that I get from music to the generation or to anyone who wishes to learn. In 2018, I graduated with a degree in voice from Towson University where I had many wonderful opportunities to work with amazing faculty and colleagues. In April, I had the privilege to play the role of The Count in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, my first 4 act opera. Read More

I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Pan American Vocology Association (PAVA), and the Voice Foundation. As a performer, I have sung in many opera houses and theatres across the country as well as in Germany and Italy. My voice has been described as “ebullient” in roles such as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Leporello in Don Giovanni, Dr. Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore, Méphistophélès in Faust, Caspar in Der Freischütz, and Sam in Trouble in Tahiti.
