I am a guitar instructor based in Los Angeles. I have more musical instruments than furniture in my house. I regularly perform in a number of ensembles in the area. I'm involved with a local gamelan ensemble (Indonesian percussion music), the Elizabeth Waldo Orchestra, and the Music Center of Los Angeles as an artist educator. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Drums
For beginning students who aren't quite sure what path they'd like to take in drumming, I like to start by teaching out of Joel Rothman's Basic Drumming, which will help build a solid foundation of the fundamentals that will be essential for being any style of drumming. But my ultimate goal is to let you guide your own journey, and we can focus on diving deeper into more advanced exercises, fine-tuning your technique, improving your pocket, time, and feel, learning to play your favorite songs and why the drums make them so good, composing your own parts, songs, or solos, and truly any aspects of your drumming you'd like to improve! Instruments: Guitar
I have been playing guitar publicly since I first picked it up. Gorilla concerts were always a blast! (ambush your unsuspecting audience, play a song, run away, hehehe) While in college I began to tutor music part-time, gradually building up my student base by referrals. Also, I started taking on bigger gigs which gave me the chance to polish my solo performance skills. Over the years I have had the privilege of working with many amazing musicians in various ensembles, further developing my craft. Read More

As a music educator, my teaching methods are designed to ignite and nurture a deep passion for music in all its diverse forms. I firmly believe in the power of integrating students' personal musical interests with classical training to create a well-rounded and enjoyable learning experience. My approach is rooted in customization. I understand that each student has unique tastes and musical preferences, and I use this as a foundation for their musical journey. Read More
Instruments: Double Bass Music
I began teaching in my early college years dating back to 2010. I have since taught students ranging in all ages from 6 to adult. Not only have I had many double bass students, as that is my primary instrument, but I have also taught trombone, beginning violin, and music theory as well. I highly encourage my students to practice regularly, as consistency is the key to developing any new skill. Additionally, I encourage every student to learn at their own pace that suits them, because everyone will learn at their unique pace in technical and musical development. Read More

I believe music is about expression and it is rewarding to find a way to help students to develop their own style. Therefore, it is important to know the student's needs and wants in order to establish a lesson plan. After reaching this first step it is easy to create some goals for each lesson. When the student feels that his needs and wants are fulfilled in the lessons, s/he gets more confident to work on new challenges. Read More

I'm a passionate instructor who loves sharing my knowledge with others. I recently obtained my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the California State University of Los Angeles. I have been training professionally as a guitarist for seven years. I have mostly performed classical guitar, but I have also been able to perform other genres while applying my classical guitar knowledge. I recently performed with my college's guitar ensemble in Armenia, and I have also had solo performances during my time in college. Read More
