I began teaching singing lessons as a youth mentor more than a decade ago. I helped these young people develop their voices and performance skills, and supported them to perform songs in front of their school communities and families. I started teaching Balkan singing and percussion workshops with my band a decade ago. Around the same time, I was involved in a program that developed trainings and curricula for group and individual musical facilitation for individuals in hospice, inter-generational community ensembles in nursing care communities, and people with memory loss. I teach the fundamentals of music, and I make sure you know how to read music. Piano can be a challenging instrument to learn and play, but I can teach you the tricks to make it easy.  For example, I can teach you to play and sing Beatles songs in two to three weeks.  I highly encourage my students to be creative, but I don't require it.  Creativity can be utilized even when you are playing Mozart or Bach.  I also teach improvisation,songwriting, and music production with Ableton Live.
