For beginning students I typically use Piano Adventures by Faber and Faber. This lesson series helps to ensure each student gets a well rounded music education. For those with previous experience, I will get to know where they're at in their knowledge and ability as well as which music interests them, and we go from there. For beginning students who are children, I typically start the first day with allowing them to perform what they have learned prior so that I can see where their strengths and weaknesses are. Afterwards, I will work on their strengths so that they feel confident to tackle on their weaknesses. Once the student has progressed in fundamentals, I will advance them to solo repertoires appropriate for their performances. Some people just want to come and learn a few tunes, some want to really learn the instrument and practice all the time. I have performed at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas for TMEA full orchestra in 2011, Hartford Convention Center for 2015 Connecticut All-State Festival, and at the IES Music Center in Vienna, Austria where I studied flute performance with Forough Djafar-Zadeh-Karimi and Ulrike Anton in the spring of 2018.
