For children and adults alike, I teach from the Ed Friedland Bass Method Book 1. It was actually the book that I started out on and Friedland is a well done studio and live bassist. He is just as amazing on bass guitar as he is on double bass. Once the student has progressed from that book then I move on to sight seeing with the student. After this then I move on to transribing basslines and meldodic lines. Read More

I started teaching while I was in college as a swing dance instructor. I got my first experience teaching people who had little to no experience with the art form, and I had to navigate teaching students with varying skill levels. After college I began teaching beginning students how to play both saxophone and clarinet. I had private students who I met with on a one-on-one basis, and I also had the opportunity to work with middle schoolers and assist both the beginning and the advanced bands. Read More

I teach my students to be self sufficient and to problem solve by themselves. By doing this it allows the student to make logical decisions and corrections in their own practice so they can establish routines of their own. I want all students to be able to evaluate their own performances so they can use their own individual practice time efficiently. I love seeing students find a musical solution to a problem on their own because it means that I’ve taught them to use their own knowledge for their own good. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Keyboard Acoustic Guitar
My desire is for all of my students to know and learn proper technique. For beginner students, I will start with theory basics that are foundational to learning and can be directly applied to their instrument. Once they gain a basic understanding of the fundamentals, I will introduce more complete solo repertoire that they can begin to work on. Depending on the interests, learning desires, and level of the student, I will move forward with what interests them, though I may require some classical selections as I believe it to be a style foundational to a great musician. Instruments: Trumpet Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I approach teaching according to each students learning style. I want to be able to reach all of my students by understanding how they learn and how it help them to improve on each lesson. Setting goals help students reach their purpose and dreams. I believe private lesson is a good option for various students because it gives the students to learn at his or her own pace. As I teach, I want to enhance their creativity, innovation and originality in learning and playing their instruments. Read More
