Overview:
I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who would love to work with students and share my love of music with them. I recently graduated from Visible Music College with a Bachelor's degree in Music Production with an emphasis on Bass Guitar. I have performed at almost every major venue in Memphis (The FedEx Forum, Redbirds Stadium, The Cannon Center, The New Daisy, etc.). With my pop/rock band The Passport that I'm in, I have also opened for well known artists such as Hawthorne Heights and Shinedown. And I have also performed on local Memphis news channels on multiple occasions, and my bands music has been on the radio more times than I can count.
EXPERIENCE
I have not actually given students lesson before. However I have been playing bass for over ten years, and I've been constantly performing several times a week for almost ten years. I have played in many different churches, many different colleagues recitals, and many different gigs all encompassing different music genres. I am very familiar with bass techniques styles and genres. And I am very confident with the appropriate advances to make weekly to become a professional musicians, and to have the right skill to continue it.
METHODS USED
Because everyone is at a different point in their abilites, each student's lessons will be customized to fit where they are, whether it be at beginner, intermediate, or advanced level. If a student specifically wants to learn a specific style or styles, then the lessons would focus on that. If they desire to be the most well-rounded in all styles, then the approach would fit that. It depends on which direction the student needs or wants to go.
LESSON STYLE
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.
