My teaching style is fairly relaxed, a student needs to enjoy the lessons or we are really wasting our time. There is no reason for music lessons to be dreary, almost all of my students enjoy their lessons and have no problem coming back week after week to be challenged again. My first experience with teaching was as a 15 year old counselor at a week long violin summer camp in Maine that my private teacher was running. It was a really fun summer of outdoor violin practice, board games, fishing, swimming, watching movies and cooking together. Since then, I have been teaching private lessons and also enjoyed 2 summers teaching at Interlochen. I am a patient teacher who enjoys working with students of all ages. I played tuba, euphonium, and bass trombone in every ensemble in college and spent time on as the principal player in the top ensemble on multiple instruments. I obtained my Master’s degree in 2016 and immediately began teaching elementary school music.
