B.S, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Music Performance M.A, Walden University, Business
At the age of 9 I was introduced to music and this has allowed me to have a passion for what I love. I enjoy working with students to help them further their dream and walk in their purpose through music. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Arkansas At Pine Bluff with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Performance. During my years In college, I traveled to different cities and states to perform and I really enjoyed presenting my gift to the world. My goal is to keep music alive within our youth and adults and to help each student accomplish their dreams.
From the start of my career, I have been teaching private lessons since I was a senior in High school. I then further my teaching abilities once I graduated from college and start to teach in the classroom in 2011 in Memphis TN. I have been teaching consistently since 2011. I'm currently a woodwind instructor at three schools here in Memphis Tn. I really enjoy working with various of students because each student has a different goal and purpose they will like to accomplish. I motivate all my students to combine their efforts to accomplish a given task successfully.
I teach according to each students learning ability and I also love to challenge my students to help with their daily practice time. Depending on the level of advancement , we will determine the materials that is needed for each lesson. If its a beginner they will start on the basic learnings and fundamentals of music to help them better understand the lesson. Once the students progress to a certain level in their music I will then introduce more challenging exercises to prepare them for the next level.
I approach teaching according to each students learning style. I want to be able to reach all of my students by understanding how they learn and how it help them to improve on each lesson. Setting goals help students reach their purpose and dreams. I believe private lesson is a good option for various students because it gives the students to learn at his or her own pace. As I teach, I want to enhance their creativity, innovation and originality in learning and playing their instruments. Teaching is a gift and I want to expand on my gift by teaching music to my students.

Mersadie is a jewel. She makes my son’s lessons fun and exciting. She has a way of pushing him to his best potential. My son tells me after every lesson how much he likes Ms. Mersadie. So glad she is my son’s instructor.
