I started playing drums at age 9. I joined the youth community jazz band right away in New Jersey. While attending High School in New Jersey, I joined the Manhattan School of Music pre-college program for jazz drums, classical percussion, and music theory. I attend the Peabody Conservatory of Music for Jazz Studies for a year. I then transferred to the Frist school of Music at the University of Miami, where I received my undergraduate degree in studio music and jazz drumset performance. Read More

My teaching experience started in 2011 where I started working for a private lesson music studio. There I taught students ranging from the ages 5-60 and taught piano and guitar. I also worked part-time as a music theory and keyboard tutor at a Community College. I met weekly with students who were struggling with these subjects. I began teaching private lessons eight years ago during college. By the end of 2015 I had a studio of over 30 students. I tend to focus on developing a student's sound concept first, so that they can get a beautiful sound out of the instrument at an early age. I also encourage students to play ear-training games and develop an independent melodic sensibility early on. A vital part of developing voice repertoire is exploring various interests and styles. I encourage all vocalists to choose songs that they will enjoy singing, but I will guide my students in exploring any realm otherwise not explored. I encourage healthy singing and practicing techniques that will ensure productive rehearsal without fear of vocal damage. A professor of mine used to always say, "there is no singing without acting", and I ensure that when a student sings a song, they will not only know how to sing properly, but they will also have a deep understanding of what they are singing about and how to convey the message. I strive to maintain a fun stress free environment in my lessons. I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes because with each mistake is an opportunity to learn a new concept or fix an underlying problem. I also encourage students to suggest material to be played or worked on during lessons.
