I am an active performer and educator in the NYC area. I graduated Cum Lade from The City College of NY and received a Bachelors degree of fine arts in Jazz performance. The beauty of studying music is that there is always something else to learn, but the most moving and fun part of singing is communicating ideas and poetry. I aim to develop personal ownership of songs/repertoire in all students (no matter their age) alongside the instruction and study of healthy vocal technique. I have taken several courses in different music pedagogy and techniques as well as genres of music.  Using the knowledge from these courses I have been enabled to form my philosophy of teaching to incorporate different teaching styles to help my students.  I feel that the main prupose of these lessons is to aid the students in their needs and wants whether it is understanding certain parts of music theory, techniques, or just understanding the basics with a piece of music.  Also, my students feel that they are able to come into a lesson with some ideas about what they want to get out of lesson while including my thoughts on what they need to work on. I love tailoring each lesson to each individual student I teach. It is important to me that my students are interested in the material that they are learning. I enjoy helping my students reach their musical goals by selecting repertoires that appeal to them while also helping to address and resolve their technical deficiencies. For my beginning piano students, I typically start with Faber's Piano Adventures. For young singers, I use the Kodaly Method as a way of developing musical skills and teaching musical concepts.
