I have three different sets of books for new students that are children; so if you have more than one starting lessons, you can hear different songs. I typically use Piano Adventures, Bastien, or Alfred, although Piano Adventures is my favorite. I suggest the lesson book, theory book and technique books be usedsimultaneously to give the student the most well-rounded lesson. I have a year of teaching Chorus in the Guilford public school system. I also have musical theater experience. I have always had a love and passion for music even since a young age. I have been touring and gigging professionally for the past two years, and have played for almost 14 years. I have been teaching for the past 3 years and my goal is to help people fall in love with the drum kit and learn another creative way of expressing yourself. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. After graduation I went and taught in Chicago for a few years and Greenville SC where I was the music teacher in both schools.
