For violin, viola, cello and bass, I teach the Suzuki method. The Suzuki method is based strongly on memory and takes a systematic approach to introducing music of increasing difficulty. For classical guitar, I start off with the Frederick Noad system, "Solo Guitar Playing", and scales. As skill level increases, I assign more etudes and standard guitar repertoire. For acoustic guitar, I teach almost exclusively finger-picking. I teach the same high standard skills for acoustic guitar that I teach for classical, but concentrate on masterpieces of the repertoire. Read More

I love to teach students from the beginning how to have good habits such as, breathing from the belly area. Not only practicing this to support a beautiful tone on the flute, but recognizing how developing a supportive breath practice also reduces stress.. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with John Thompson's The Easiest Piano Course, Part1 and I always try to reach Part 4 with the student. After 6 mounts of having lessons with the same kids I am offering them to perform in front of there parents, friends and neighbors. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My high school orchestra director Heather Grier (world-renowned violinist and frequent performer with Andrea Bocelli) inspired me to pursue music education as a career. I began attending the Ybor City campus of Hillsborough Community College in 2008, which is also the year I began teaching music lessons full-time. I became active in student government, went on to become Music Club President, and subsequently won an Outstanding Student Leadership Award in 2011.
