I am a motivated piano instructor. I enjoy teaching as well as learning what genre my student likes to play. I have been playing as a church musician since the age of 16. I had the opportunity to play for the adult and youth choirs. I am versatile in different genres however, I specialize in gospel music. I graduated in 2011 from Appalachian State University with a Bachelorof Music in Voice Performacne and I continued my education at ASU and recieved my Masters of Music in Voice Performance in 2013. During both degrees, I performed mainstage roles such as Nemorino in Donizetti'sElixir of Love, the Witch in Humperdink's Hansel and Gretel, Bastienin Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne, and Gherardo in Puccini's GianniSchicchi, as well as performed solos with the Appalachian Chorale suchas Handel's Messiah and Mendelsohn's Elijah. For my beginner students, I start by introducing them to the drum kit, providing a bit of history, and understanding their personal goals for learning drums. We focus on fundamentals, including drum notation, and by the end of the first lesson, most students can play a basic groove and fillgiving them the tools to start learning their favorite songs. Once the fundamentals are in place, we move on to learning songs and exploring different techniques, guided by the student's individual goals. Read More
