I am enthusiastic about sharing all that I have learned with future students. I have given many different solo and collaborative performances all over the eastern United States. In the collaborative field, I have accompanied vocalists and instrumentalists. I have been the principal pianist in various orchestras and have performed piano in many different ensembles that championed traditional and contemporary works. I am a young aspiring student just like those that I teach and, therefore I enjoy having fun and keeping the student engaged as I understand how hard it is to focus when beginning to play an instrument like the trumpet which may seems mundane at first. My main quote for success is to,"aim for the moon and if you fail you will land among the stars." I encourage my students to set goals that may be a little outside of their comfort zone, but I will never set a goal that is outside the level of achievement for a specific students skills. For beginning students on guitar i typically start wih Hal Leonards book 1. With about 50 pages in this book, we can go thru at a steady pace and be playing songs from the beginning. Makeing music from the very beginning is the key ! Even the simple one line practice exercizes i back up with a harmonic chordal accompaniment for a satisfying duet.
