I'm a trombonist in my last semester of my Master's degree in performance and chamber music at the University of Michigan, and am so excited to share my knowledge with students of any age. I originally worked as a drummer, then switched my primary focus to piano when I began my junior year in college. My lesson style consists of working on fingering and plucking first from Essential Method Book for Strings or the Suzuki book (for the beginning students who are children). While they (children) are practicing, I encourage/ recommend them to memorize the songs if they can. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Stylistically, I prefer one-on-one lessons with students because I tend to see better results than in group lessons. If a student doesn't understand something I have other ways of teaching.
