I have had the privileged of working with many successful musicians. After studying the way they taught me and other students, I feel that the best lesson plans are ones that are catered to the individual student. It is important to know what the student wants to accomplish, then build a lesson plan from there. For a beginning student, we start with essential fundamentals, for a more advanced student, I would guide my instruction based on the student goals. Read More

I create a hands on curriculum based on the students musical proficiency. Alongside this structured lesson plan, every student will receive training on proper practicing techniques which help build their sense of guidance, responsibility, and structure. Students will also receive training for embouchure and tone development as well as warm up etudes that cater to the students skill level. Music theory and terms will be infused within the lesson plans to ensure my student's proper use of signs and symbols. Read More

My teaching experience began during my college years, as I commenced providing private lessons on a part-time basis eight years ago. For the past five years, I have been devoted to teaching students in my home studio. I emphasize the importance of regular practice on a consistent schedule, particularly for younger students, as this approach significantly contributes to their progress and fosters a passion for the instrument. I have also observed that incorporating a mix of classical and contemporary music greatly enhances students' enjoyment of the piano, thereby motivating them to practice and continue their learning journey. I have an easy going personality and like to have fun so I try to make my lessons feel the same way. I'm not overly harsh or judgmental but instead I try to make each lesson a true learning experience where there's no pressure and the student is free to make mistakes (even encouraged to take risk and make mistakes) in pursuit of their passion of music. I believe when a student feels free to be themselves with their instrument it will result in a faster learning curve and more excitement to learn. Read More

I firmly support my personal slogan, "Teaching to learn loving to teach", because ultimately that's the meaning of teaching. Teaching is essentially for the student to learn the material, but at the same time the student is teaching me patience and joy. I base my teaching method on my strong enthusiastic, optimistic, patient, and loving character. I make sure the student feels comfortable and take any amount of time until they thoroughly understand the subject of choice. Read More
Instruments: Guitar
For beginners I start teaching basic chords and chord patterns to generate interest for the student. Then I use the Hal Leonard Guitar method to teach the fundamentals of reading music, music theory, etc. Then as the student grasps these simple tools I teach songs to reinforce how chord patterns work and finally move to the type of music the student is interested in. For intermediate and advanced students I find out the level of competance the student currently has and tailor a program based on the needs of each student. Read More

I start all beginners with the Mel Bay guitar method. That's how I started. From there we create what works for them. I'm also learning as I teach and creating each lesson newly. I like to keep the lessons fresh and exciting too. Finding fun ways to practice the modes and scales. After each lesson we want to measure our growth and our progress. I also love seeing my students play live too. Read More
