I'm a committed and goal-oriented instructor who wants to share the love of music. I still consider myself a student because there are lifetimes of knowledge and experience there is to be had with our beautiful art. In 2012, I graduated from the Martha Ellen Stilwell School Of The Arts for Symphonic Band and Jazz Band where my main instrument was trumpet. I've done session musician work at Wondaland Records, American Sushi and Doppler Studios in Atlanta. Read More
Instruments: Piano
Although I play various musical instruments, such as guitar, harmonica, Chinese violin, synthesizer, and Chinese flute, in various styles and genres, my speciality is piano, especially in classical music. I majored in music as a honor student and was very active in musical productions and activities. However, once I started teaching piano, I fell in love teaching more than performing. I feel that the sharing of my skills and knowledge makes me connect with music lovers and piano enthusiasts in a deeper level, than with the audience. Read More

I started teaching private lessons in high school, for free, to other students in the percussion section of both the concert and marching bands. Shortly after starting as a music major at Asbury Univeristy I continued to teach lessons. During my collegiate years I also was involved in taking private lessons and playing for all available percussion-needed ensembles (concert band, jazz band, orchestra, etc.). Consistenly since leaving high school I have also played in both rock bands and wedding bands and I consider these to be extremely helpful in my teaching experience. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

For beginners, I recommend Standards of Excellence and if the parent's budget allows, a subscription to Smart Music which can monitor and record daily practice and inform a student of minor errors so growth can happen between lessons. For intermediate or advanced students, I like to establish a well rounded warm-up routine for their practice and move into solo repertoire appropriate for their level. For adults, I like to cater towards their goals and desires. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
I would describe my teaching style as fun and goal oriented. I want my students to love music! It's obviously important that each student progresses in their playing as well as their understanding of music. A method I use is knows as PSP (Praise, Suggest, Praise). I like to acknowledge accomplishments to promote a positive environment. Part of what I like to do is find out what makes a student want to play music. Read More
