I've been playing music for close to 20 years now. I have played in many different environments and settings ranging from church to rock to classical to jazz to theater productions. I am largely self taught, though I would not have progressed at the rate I did without the people around that I had. One excellent thing I think has helped my as a teacher is having learned many wrong ways to do things. Read More

I use a variety of methods depending on the level of the student. I certainly cover all the fundamentals and show how they relate to music. Generally I like to ask the student what kind of music they like and that's how we get started. Read More

I always tailor each lesson to a specific student's personality, needs, and goals. Beyond this, I try to create dialogue that encourages student's to become so adept that they can actually teach themselves. While I've taught all ages, I currently am only accepting highschool and online students for online instruction. I've found for these age groups that an online format is incredibly accessible and more than comprible to in-person lessons. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I utilize the Alfred and Bastien lesson book series. When the student has grasped basic fundamentals, I move away from the method books and into appropriate solo repertoire. For adults, I create custom plans and materials to guide my instruction according to the student's interests and goals. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet Music
My teaching experience began as community outreach & engagement with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra's "Crescendo" program. I ran group clarinet lessons and performed in Boston Public Schools. I entered a similar relationship with teaching when I relocated to Chicago in 2016 to play with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Upon my return to Boston, I began teaching privately and joined the faculty of the North End Music & Performing Arts Center where I am a Woodwind Teaching Artist for the Eliot Band Program, as well as teach private lessons. Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet Keyboard
I have been my musical journey on clarinet in the second grade, and I have stuck with it ever since! I then picked up tenor saxophone to play in the jazz big band, and I began my piano journey at the end of high school to diversify my musical knowledge! I have gained a lot of experience playing in the professional music world through playing at Westfield State! From playing in WSU's symphony, to creating my own chamber ensemble, to playing in the jazz big band, to playing in a pit orchestra and even dabbling in chorus and chamber choir, I like to be as musically versatile and explorative as I can! Instruments: Guitar Drums
I have taught guitar, drums and music on and off over the past 30 years. From children to seniors and ages in between, I say practice makes perfect! As a teacher I encourage my students to progress. I learned so much from my great teachers, I experienced being a student myself! I am learning all the time. As a student I learned a lot, so in turn I enjoy teaching what I have learned. Read More
