A book that I use for lip slurs is the Irons book, this book contains extensive exercises for lip flexibility. I also use a lot of exercises that I either learned from other trumpet players, or ones that I made up on my own to target specific things. For beginning students I try to go slow and make sure that they get the fundamentals and essentials down. My beliefs are that learning each stage well will help expedite the process of learning and playing later in life. At some point shortly after the fundamentals we will begin on solo literature and possibly duet literature.
