Instruments: Piano Drums Keyboard
If there is a particular song that a student is interested in learning, I will do my best to find the music for it and if it is not available, I will transcribe a version myself. As far as drumset goes, I teach the students the way I was taught. I first teach them the basics on snare drum. Then we move to snare and bass and afterwards snare, bass drum, and hi-hat. Read More

I began playing at the age of four when I first sat down to a piano. I began creating music from the first time I started to play. From there I began taking piano lessons up until I went to study music at the University of California Santa Barbara. At UCSB I studied music composition and recording at the UCSB College of Creative Studies. After college I played keyboards in a jam band that played original music and toured all over the west coast. Read More

I have been teaching music and percussion classes for over 10 years. I have taught in a variety of settings, ranging from elementary and high schools, to community centers and universities. I strive to create a fun and engaging learning environment for my students. My teaching style is rooted in the belief that students should be allowed to explore and experiment with the material they are learning, while also having a strong foundation of technique and theory. I like to create lessons in which students learn to read traditional music notation, develop technique, and play familiar tunes. I use musictheory.net to help student practice reading note names. The faster a student can read musical notation, the faster the student can pick up new pieces. To develop technique, I want students to lean scales and arpeggios. Sometimes, we use a technique book to develop muscle memory, and other times technical exercises are created based on the tricky musical passages of solo or ensemble pieces. Read More

I am a 34 year old male music teacher who specializes in teaching any kind of guitar with strings on it from bass to steel guitar, classical to electric.. I have played for 23 years and I love teaching all kinds of music. I have no college degree or anything fancy but i have the desire to teach others what I have learned. Music is my passion and I hope to inspire many others to play just as I have been inspired to keep playing all these years by my father who learned how to play guitar with me. Read More

My teaching experience dates back nearly 30 years now! I have worked with students of many ages and proficiencies. Some students are more inclined to play by ear and others more inclined to read from the music. As a teacher I try to spot the type of learner that a student is, and work to strengthen areas that need exercise. I enjoy working with a wide age range of students, and believe that learning the piano can be a great asset at any age. Read More

Along with a strong background of fundamentals found in Faber's Adventures, Burnam's Step By Step, and Snell's Repertoire, I help students from five to nine with personal selections based on interest. Examples would be Disney songs (Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast), Gospel and Religious (Jesus Loves Me, the Dreydl song), or superheroes (Spiderman). Ten to 14-year olds have used favorites from around the world -(everything from Greensleeves to Malaguena, In the Hall of the Mountain King and more superheroes like Batman and Iron Man), plus classics by Beethoven and Bach.
