As an active performer, she made her solo debut at the age of 14 performing the Haydn C Major Cello Concerto with the Central Conservatory of Music Chamber Orchestra in China and has been a featured soloist on numerous occasions since. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Arban's Trumpet Method Book. Any brass instrument can play from this book! Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

For all of my piano students, I use Nancy and Randall Faber's Piano Adventures. Students ages 3-5 use the My First Piano Adventure series, which moves at a slightly slower pace and contains more parent/teacher activities. Students ages 6-12 (where most of my students are) use the standard Piano Adventures progression. Older students (age 13 and up) use the Accelerated Piano Adventures series, which is designed specifically for use with older beginners. Read More
