2008- Concert master for high school orchestra
2014- Earned teaching license
I graduated from Wright State University in May of 2014 and received my teaching license in December 2014. I have performed in many different groups including Cincinnati Boychoir, May Festival Youth Chorus, Great Miami Youth Symphony, Wright State University Chamber Orchestra, and the Hamilton Fairfield Chorale. I have been teaching privately since I was 17 and I have always had a passion for kids. While I was in high school, I was concert master for our trip to New York City. While at Wright State University, I performed 5 solo concerts. While I was in the Cincinnati Boychoir, I had a chance to perform with the Honolulu Symphony and Chorus. Since 2007, I have sung the national anthem for the Cincinnati Reds every season.
I have been teaching privately for eight years, and I have many different styles of teaching. I focused all of my lessons on what the goals are, and what are in the students best interests. Since I was nine years old I knew that I wanted to be involved in teaching music to others especially children. Every person should have a chance to learn music, and I strive to help students reach there goals every lesson.
For all of my beginning students I use the Suzuki method. I am a very fast paced teacher, and I hold all of my students to high standards. As my students get into more advanced music, I select solo literature that best fits their musical abilities. For my vocal students I select music that is appropriate for them from the very beginning. For my male vocal students, I coach them through the voice change, which is a rewarding experience for me. We work on using the head voice and the transition to the changed voice.
I move at a very quick pace, but I have my students set their own goals. While I will select the literature for the student, I want them to feel successful when they are working with me. I want students to be confident and successful, so I will do anything in my power to help them learn good technique and practice habits. Teaching students has been a rewarding experience for me, and I believe that I can make a difference in their lives.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
