While in college I briefly stopped teaching but resumed before graduating, and have been teaching in home lessons again since completion. It is pretty funny but works like a gem. Toshio Takahashi came up with this way to have a concrete way to teach begiiners embouchure and sound production. When the student practices with the rice, they produce a powerful"toot" the first time the headjoint reaches their lips! I like to use the Suzuki materials for flute and also mix it up with favorite duet books and classic repetoire. I graduated from New England Conservatory with an MM in Collaborative Piano, and received my BM in Piano Performance from New York University. I have performed as a soloist and with ensembles at venues including Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
