I am a Maryland area music teacher who has been teaching lessons on the side for almost ten years now. I commute from Willow Street each day. I enjoy teaching a variety of wind instruments, and always work my hardest to meet every student at his or her own level, wherever It may be. I graduated from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore with degrees in music education and trombone performance. I am currently in the process of obtaining my masters degree from Temple University. I have performed at places such as Dutch Wonderland, Hershey Park, and Busch Gardens as a hired musician.
I began teaching private students while in college through a music store in Ellicott City, MD. I taught students from age 6 to 15. I had up to 15 students on varied occasions. I maintained students on and off throughout my 7 years of music teaching in public schools following graduating from college, but lost many students when I relocated from Baltimore to Lancaster. I am hoping to network and develop a studio of students again. I am a middle school band director, so I have experience with teaching every instrument in the band.
I meet each and every student at their own level, wherever that may be, and help them grow. I like to talk to each student or parent about their goals in music with the understanding that many are very different. I try to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible for all of my students. I generally require a student to purchase a book depending on what they are working on. It is my expectation that a student is practicing in addition to attending lessons, and practice logs may possibly be used. I also like to document what is worked on and assigned for each week, so each student will have a lesson folder to keep with them.
I like to set goals for my students. I generally work out of lessons books, solo repertoire, and whatever else the student brings in. If the students have music from classes in school, I will also assist them with that. I try to keep the lesson light, and enjoyable! I consider myself very personable with students and I am very comfortable teaching a variety of students. Parents are welcome to sit in if they choose. I like to ask questions and be involved in a students other interests in order to develop a relationship with the student, so that they enjoy coming to lessons.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
