I am a passionate teacher of the flute and piccolo. I am currently available to teach lessons at my home studio or online. I have helped students prepare for performances in Cincinnati and Japan, scholarship auditions, and begin the flute from scratch. Ms. Ma is a top-prize winner of numerous competitions, including first prize winner of the 2018 "Golden Classical Music Awards' ' International Competition. As an orchestral musician, she has been the cello principal for the Cleveland Women Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra and Central Conservatory of Music Chamber Orchestra. After introductions have been made by me and the student, I usually ask a goal of theirs that they would like to accomplish during their studies with me. From there, I usually focus on fundamentals while I try and figure out where they are as a player and cater my instruction to what I discover. For an elementary student, that might be relating musical concepts they are being taught by their 3rd grade music teacher, like "ta's" being quarter notes, to what they are learning on saxophone.
