For beginning students, I usually prefer to use the Suzuki method, as this is the method I grew up on, and I prefer to teach the knowledge that I find useful in the method. However, my lessons are not solely based on my preference, as I identify individual strengths and weaknesses and target those in the sessions. Ability level also has a big role in planning the direction of the lesson, as I do not use Suzuki for advanced students. Read More

I have a very energetic and adaptable teaching style. Having worked with students from 3 years old to in their 30's, I can mold lessons to fit any type of attention span. I have also worked with students with special education needs and physical issues, so I can also work with parents to find ways for any student, regardless of their situation, to enjoy a life of music. He also holds a bachelors in classical guitar performance from UC and an associates degree in music from Sinclair Community College. Part of our final project included giving a sample lesson to a colleague, and I fell in love with helping someone achieve their goal through singing. I have taught in several different settings over the years, but my private studio has been the most satisfying environment. For beginning students, I like to work out of the Rubank Elementary Method book. We further move on to the Intermediate and Advanced methods while also adding solo repertoire that is suitable to their skill level. Along with these method books, we will also work on music that they personally enjoy.
