Typically, I favor using drum method books, and listening to recordings for students to use and listen to in between lessons. I tailor my teaching style to each student.  When something clicks for them, I stick with it and adapt to keep the student engaged, interested, and passionate about music.  If I find a student is not fond of a certain book or solo, we change course together. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment.
