In May of 2023, Lynlia graduated with a Master of Arts in Performing Arts Administration at New York University. She previously received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Chinese Language Literature at CUNY Hunter College under the Macaulay Honors Program. In 2019, Lynlia completed her capstone year in Taiwan under the American Councils Language Flagship Program, where she studied Mandarin extensively and worked as an intern at the Taiwan Philharmonic. I taught students ages 5-7 in the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls' Jumpstart program, and ages 8-18 in Willie Mae's Girls Rock Program. At Willie Mae, I taught mostly group lessons. I have also taught group theory and fundamentals lessons at the Brooklyn Music School in Fort Greene, where I work currently as a counselor. When I teach, I tend to forget the time. I always walk an extra mile, vocal lessons especially. I want my students to learn the basic techniques on how to use their vocal chords, where to place their voices, how to memorize, how to hold the mic, how to emcee, how to phrase, express, improvise which really needs time in learning. But after that, students will be more inspired, motivated, more eager to learn and challenge themselves to be better singers or performers. Read More

I am classically trained, so my teaching methods are in line with the classical method. For all beginner students, we work on breath control and tone to start before concentrating on song repertoire. Once the student is comfortable and producing good sound, we then start to look at material suited the student's voice.
