I teach 4-way independence (this means all 4 limbs) so students can move freely around the drum set. With this independence, students are able to play any style of music including Rock, Blues, Gospel, Latin, Jazz, Hip Hop, Electronic, and World. I incorporate a remarkable practice drumstick known as the HingeStix into the lesson plan that builds muscle memory to master the loose grip, the bounce, and the rebound. I have a great deal of experience working as both a voice teacher and a musical theatre teaching artist. I guess my point is, I can play any instrument and if I had more time in the world, I could practice more. I took all of the music classes in my college and I passed with flying colors (except brown because he has a broken wing so he can't fly that much, but other colors flew high).
