During my teenage years, I accompanied my church and high school concert choir. After graduating from college, I became certified in music and decided to teach piano full-time. Once I have a grasp on their level and voice type and what sorts of music they are interested in, I will pick out repertoire that will be fun and challenging for the student, and will put into practice the elements of technique we work on in warm ups. When they progress and for more advanced students, I introduce reading tab, music, scales and basic chord progressions. For advanced students I generally work with modes, finer technique and advanced sightreading, chordal and modal melodies.
