For every one of my beginning students who wants to start playing the guitar or singing, I will alway start them off the best and most knowlegable way I know how, which would be a beginners guide. I am very old school, meaning I expect them to memorize lyrics and lines, and understand what they are saying and why. I approach teaching as a teacher who still performs,and learned by doing it. Beginners are always fun to teach Kids are like sponges they just absorb everything you can think of and they will always give me a sense that Im doing something they can enjoy for their whole life. Adults can be somewhat of a challenge especially if they never played an instrument while growing up but if theyre willing to put the time and effort in it can become a very fulfilling and nice hobby. I have found that the best method includes positive motivation, which includes both encouragement for what the student is doing successfully, and also pushing the student in areas where they may feel hesitant. Within couple months my little musicians are ready for their first recital.
