I will start my beginner piano lessons with "Teaching Little Fingers to Play" "John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course Part I." Basic music theory such as determining lines spaces (Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge F.A.C.E) and basic 1-5 fingering patterns. Depending on the level of the beginner, we could practice "Hot Cross Buns," "Mary Had a Little Lamb" "Happy Birthday" or "Ode to Joy." I studied film scoring and piano performance with recognized pianists and composers in the field at Berklee and earned Bachelor degree in double majors and a minor. In my early age, I won piano competitions in Korea, which gave me an opportunity to perform in Taiwan. Since 2009, I worked with a distinguished Professor Mate Bekavac on specialized approaches to the standards of music pedagogy. As a result, I have developed a teaching method, which combines ‘awareness instruction method’, with basic teachings in music. I am not Suzuki-certified, however my teaching style does include a mix of Suzuki and independent materials. I like to teach music theory skills concurrently with technical lessons so that students can reinforce their practical training.
