My practice is an evidenced-based one. I chose exercises that are specifically tailored to a certain vocal idea or skill that we are working on. From there, we modify the exercise to meet the needs of the student's unique body and other student specific needs (i.e. previous habits, personality type, etc.). I have been teaching trumpet, improvisation and theory for ten years and have worked with students from beginner to professional level. I have taught private students, clinics, summer workshops and full band classes. I have worked with the Juilliard Outreach Program, Yamaha Canada, the Sterling Hall School and Roy Thompson Hall's 'Save the Music' program. This past summer I was selected as one of 18 young artists for the Up North Vocal Institute, a highly selective opera performance program with applicants all around the world. I have also played trumpet for the Marching Band, Big Band, Baroque Ensemble, and was the principal trumpet of the Moravian College Community Orchestra. I have over 30 years combined experience on my instruments, I have 21 private lesson students in voice and piano, and I was accepted to go to New England Conservatory to get my master’s in Vocal Performance in Opera.
