I am a passionate and ambitious artist and instructor here to help others learn and grow. I am in the process of studying music theory/musicianship and performance. I have had a couple gigs so far including singing the National Anthem at the Angels Stadium for Santa Ana College Commencement. I am very empathetic and hardworking. I love to share my knowledge and experiences and help create personalized lessons for each individual student. Read More

Instruments: Piano

My goal is for my students to succeed in making music at the piano. My lessons focus on 1. scales and exercises to build finger, hand, and arm strength...yes! arm strength because you use your arms in making music at the piano. 2. Exploring the piano in terms of it as a powerful tool of expressing your unique internal musical personality. 3. Exploring and perfecting music and songs the student and I choose together to be sure that the a) student enjoys what they are playing and practicing...and b) that the music will be beneficial for their growth at the piano. I approach teaching in layers. Step one leads to step two, we cant skip steps! I find it important that for beginners we follow this structure. More advanced students will be on a case by case basis in regards to where we start. I emphasize imprivisation in every lesson weather it be on drums, piano or trombone. Playing music right off the top of your head, and in the moment is something you can't learn out of a book! Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice

I spend a couple of minutes every week quizzing them on their keyboard note identification until this has become a solid foundation for them. For additional practise, I have them colour in worksheets in addition to the quizzing. We also play the keyboard race game which is always a hit with students. A number of my new students in this age category are transfer students who have been learning for some time and are reading music notation in their method books, despite having significant trouble identifying notes on the keyboard quickly. Instruments: Piano Guitar Violin Cello Accordion

I use All for Strings, Suzuki, Klengel (scales) at the beginning level. I proceed to Concerto repertoire, Popper, Dotzauer etc. The usual classical repertoire. I will also transcribe popular pieces or pieces that the student enjoys to really increase motivation. I also test weekly to inform students of where their practice ability is at and what they need to improve on. I have a very effecient practice style that I have developed on my own and am quite proud of. Teaching is my life and it makes me happy to see students improve. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
