For chords we will work through some books that I've had great past success with in my lessons. It's a great way to start off with just 2 or 3 chords, and slowly add more chords and strumming patterns as we progress through the book. As we learn more chords, we eventually start incorporating these chords into our songs as well. For advanced students I sometimes focus more heavily on one particular aspect of a students playing if they desire that (for example; if the student is already proficient in rhythm we may move directly to soloing and music theory). *I do not force my students to learn notation as I've found it can be very discouraging (especially for children), but I can incorporate this into the lesson if it's desired by the parent or student. I believe music is a universal language that every person can learn. Music has always been my passion, and being able to teach and pass along the knowledge of such an emotional force, that brings people together, is a blessing in itself. The beauty of music is that no matter who or how old you are, music always has something new to teach you. I graduated from Cuyamaca College with two AA's, where I performed in the choir. Read More

I want all of my students smiling and laughing and feeling the joy in discovering how to play music that brings them passion. I break it down into steps for my students. I explain to my piano, guitar, voice students in such a way that it really assists them in understanding the process of learning music. We gradually develop one motor skill after another motor skill. It becomes fun as we get more comfortable with each skill, we add-on more skills, and beautiful pieces of music arise out of our development. Read More

Then I will propose them to learn any songs of their choice and teach them the manner to play it ; arpeggio, Rythmic, solos. I can teach the students some basic of music theory for them to be able to read music and apply it on their instrument. Read More

My experience as a musical theatre performer both onstage and in the pit, have given me many useful and resourceful teaching methods that have allowed a humble program in an urban district to blossom and thrive. In five years, the chorus of 18 singers reading lyrics sheets, has performed as guests throughout Hudson County and returned to the Teen Arts Festival with repertoire such as Mozart’s Ave Verum, Dan Davidson’s Ritmo, and several contemporary pieces. I started teaching piano and drums in church around the age of 18. Once I got to college, I picked up trombone, piano and singing lessons for various students aging from 4 years old-22 years old. I realized that teaching, part time, was a passion of mine and greatly became something that I focused my efforts on full time. Now, as a professional musician, I take pride in helping others achieve their music dreams. Read More

I believe learning music is an enjoyable experience. Students should have fun playing piano, but it is also important that they learn the necessary techniques while playing piano. My goal is to help individuals who are not interested in playing piano and teach them to enjoy playing music As for those who like playing piano, my goal is to teach and go in-depth about the background behind a piano piece; most important of all, to teach students to learn music in a fun and relaxed way.
