Typically, the first lesson begins as a mock audition to engage the level that the student is at, no matter what age. After learning about the student's musical taste, I usually pick the music that the student will learn in our lessons, this especially goes for beginners. More intermediate and advanced students will get to choose what music they want to learn, accordingly to the lesson plan. I have many books and sheet music for all sorts of styles. Read More

When my father saw my interest in the guitar, he put me in guitar classes because as he said, I had to "learn properly". Soon after my first lesson I realized I didn't learn very conventialy, l. I just wanted to learn the songs that I love. Flamenco Guitar and singing is an art for passed down from father to son/daughter. This is how I teach. The methods I use change depending on the student, but generally, I use the following: - Piano: start with Alfreds (suited for age/proficiency), then choose a specialty (improvising, classical, pop, etc) - Guitar: start with Hal Leonard (for note reading), then choose a specialty (jazz, pop, classical, flamenco, etc) - Voice: because of the nature of the human voice, I dont use a book, but rather teach principles and methods to use during practice and performance Regardless of the instrument, I hope to help you improve as much as I can. My teaching style is relaxed and informal. I like to have a connection with my students and I usually achieve that through good sense of humor, simplicity and precision in the delivery of information and accuracy in the examples used to enhance the explanations. What you can expect as my student is a fun lesson, useful information, a lot of playing and feeling motivated to study until we meet on a next time. Read More

Fun. Music is fun. Learning music should be fun. My style of teaching is to take what I find fun about playing music and introduce it to my students in gradual easy to understand steps. I do my best at teaching my students to read, write and create music. I also include many fun exercises to achieve finger dexterity. For my more advanced students I will take them to local open mic nights to help grow their confidence. Read More

I continued my studies with Berklee online courses on jazz improvisation, music theory, songwriting, and recording. My musical background includes playing in many different groups over the years; I'm fluent in rock, alternative, blues, metal, singer songwriter, and jazz/fusion styles. I've toured the USA and performed from small clubs to huge venues (House of Blues, Whisky A Go Go, Fairgrounds, Camp Pendleton sponsored events, etc.), I've recorded on many records, and have made my living solely playing music for about 6 years now; Read More
