I started teaching in high school. At Santa Monica High School, we had a huge music program. With 6 orchestras in making up the music program, I was placed in the orchestra made up of the most advanced players. I volunteered my time every week at the request of our orchestra director to giving lessons to students placed in the beginning and intermediate orchestras. I had many great opportunities with the UK Symphonic Orchestra including performances at the Kennedy Center in DC, Carnegie Hall in New York City, and alongside world renowned violinists Gil Shaham, Sarah Chang, and Itzhak Perlman. I employ a very eclectic, rotating repetoire. For beginning violin students, I use the Suzuki method of ear-training, however I am not married to that curriculum. I prefer to use beginning Suzuki materials in tandem with standard American folk and pop music, in accordance to the student's interests.
