I am a very dedicated and passionate person. Not only I love music, but I also love transmitting my love for it with my students. Not only I love teaching, but I also have as a goal to transmit the love for music and the instrument as it will become part of my students life. Learning an instrument is not passing a class, but to become a knowledgeable person of it and bring it forever. It is well known that music transforms, changes and helps people in the best way possible. I strongly believe that music should be part of everyone's life and journey.
I have been teaching and performing music for over 20 years. As a performer, I have sang Opera and recitals in many different cities inside the United States and in Colombia, Ecuador and Argentina. As a music teacher, I have taught in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, California as well as Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona I have conducted several choirs, at school and church. I have also directed musicals and Operas such as Jesus Christ Superstar, La Boheme, Luisa Fernanda and segments of Don Gionanni.
For my VOICE students, I believe in the 5 steps method. This consists in 1. Relaxing, 2. Breathing, 3. Vocalization, also known as Vocal Warm-Ups, 4. Sol-fa, 5. Song Preparation. My voice students know that their voices is the only instrument that cannot be bought and replaced, and for that reason, we all need to take good care of it and educate it so it lasts forever. For my GUITAR students, I start with left and right hand exercises so the fingers get articulated and well trained. I teach the Hal Leonard Method mostly and all my students must learn how to read music.
It has become very addictive to me to see my students succeed. It is not all about them learning how to play an instrument, but also to have them believe in themselves. Trusting they can go beyond and know they can learn more than they could possible imagine. My students gain a lot of confidence when this happens. This does not happen from one day to another, but with a lot of discipline, effort, dedication and love for the music and the instrument that will make the sound become music. As a teacher, I will do my best to have you learn your instrument.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
