I teach more than 35 years now. It is a great experience combined of mostly private lessons and classroom experience. I am trying to motivate my students according to their interests and also buy using a worldly music knowledge that we inherited form generations of musicians who ever lived on Earth. Works of contemporary musicians are also used as a great tool for inspiration of my students. I encourage my students to performing public, even in a very small scale. Read More

Teaching music requires a great deal of patience and insight. The instructor should be able to identify his/her students "comfort level" when creating/implementing an instruction program for a student. If a student feels as if he is being pushed along at a pace not suited for his learning style the student may not gain maximum benefit from the instruction. The student may also begin to lose interest in continuing with instructions. Read More

I believe that you never stop learning. Even when you are teaching. Thus I am not the teacher to show up without my own equipment and sit quietly while on plays what I gave them the week before. Everything will be done together. Iron sharpens iron. Goals will be realistic but challenging. Each session will include a review of everything else that's been worked on. Read More

I often see that my students are able to find both enjoyment and enlightenment through music. This is accomplished by having a base in traditional style of music education, while also incorporating fun and relatable topics. I also see them develop a sense of confidence because of their ability to understand a subject that they may not have had much familiarity with before. On the performing side, I play those same instruments in a wide range of ensembles. Read More

Everyone has a talent for and comfort level with communication. Music is simply another form of the same though universal and like all art forms, so much more can be expressed with so much less. From an early age we become comfortable with verbal and physical expression. Music is no different; we just don't learn to speak the language as a matter of course. It is a discipline that can be defined, understood and put into practice. Read More

I start out with fundamental theory, scales, and chords, along with easy songs and riffs. I teach student differently depending on their skill and ability level. I utilize textbooks and DVDs to accompany the lessons. My approach is straight forward, which enables the students to learn quickly.I think the visual aspect of the guitar is very important, so I focus a lot on theory applied directly to the guitar. What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
The more you practice what I have taught you, the better a musician you will be. Practice as much as you can or want to until you get as good as you can or want to be. I can't force you to practice, but I can give you the steps necessary to become as good of a musician as you potentially could be. I will teach you the necessary steps to becoming a fantastic musician, if you decide to practice what I teach you and learn it on your own, you will eventually become a good enough musician to perform and also teach others what you have learned.
How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
Does your child want to learn so badly that he or she is begging you to find a way for them to learn their desired instrument? That's when you know they are fully ready. If your child says they want to learn how to play music, like playing piano for example, then it is your turn to make that happen. Once you make that happen, I will continue to make it happen. They won't be able to learn what they want without a teacher to guide them. I would gladly be that teacher and I am willing to help anyone at any age.
When will I start to see results?
You will see results as soon as you meet me. We will go over exactly what you want to go over and I will make it as fun as possible. You will be able to learn at your own pace and I will be able to teach you the methods that I came up with to get myself where I am today. You will see the best results when you take what I have taught you and then learned from it and practiced it so that you can remember what I taught you so that we can move on to improving your skills as a musician. You are the one that is in control of making yourself receive positive results.
Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
I didn't really have any teacher. I was born to play music and I made that happen on my own. I have an uncle that taught me a few chords on the guitar when I was six years old. A few months later after I learned some chords, I started teaching him some stuff that I improvised on. He would show me a Beatles song, I would correct him and tell him that the chord he showed me is actually a little more complicated than what is on the record. My perfect pitch helped me to learn every instrument and I used that to teach myself what I hear in other songs.
