My teaching style is very friendly and I have a great passion for teaching! I also like to guide my students on how to refine their playings by themselves and encourage them to form their own thoughts on the music, and I believe the ability to resolve problems without outside help is crucial not only in the music realm but also in real life, so it is a good place to train that skill too! Ever since I started playing viola in the third grade, I have been drawn to performing and teaching music. I am a graduate of the Hartt School, where I was a member of an honors chamber music program, Performance 20-20. Since 2007 I have been a violist in the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra and freelance on both viola and violin throughout Connecticut and Westchester County, NY. Chamber music, however, is my number one passion and one of the reasons I love playing and teaching the violin and viola!! Read More

I have been teaching regularly since my college days. I started as a piano teacher, but quickly expanded into stringed instrument. Right now I teach at home, in my own studio, my student's homes, and in couple local schools as a music director and teacher. I prepare y students not only how to play, but also how to become self starting artists able to read and play. I organize yearly recitals where all of my students can show their skills. Read More

With beginner students, regardless of age, I start with the Suzuki pre-twinkle exercises to build a solid foundation of technique, as well as starting ear training exercises and note reading practice. Once a student has mastered the pre-twinkle fundamentals, I move to the first two Suzuki books, and supplement with etudes tailored to the student's level and musical interests. My philosophy is that learning should be organic and enjoyable, so I do my best to introduce repetitive and uninteresting exercises only when necessary, and to make them as entertaining as possible when I do so. What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
Always enjoy the practice, to enjoy that process you need to be able stay focused, listen yourself. There for, practice slow with small parts of the material.
The break during practice is equally important as the practicing time by itself.
How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
Communication is a great way to check, therefore there are several things which are obvious: does your child enjoy the violin music whenever he or she listens to it?
If the child has some sense of rhythm and so called “ musical ear”, Give it a try,, as nobody started to play at once.We will see together, work together, trying to develop sense of rhythm and some basic ear training.
When will I start to see results?
Each lesson is process of giving information ,receiving that information. Usually after each lesson only quarter of the information, that is being remembered by student, so systematic work ,by digesting old material and receiving new material will show results, as teaching and learning process is repetitive one. But after each lesson there will be that small difference.
Though there are some people who just want to see that difference in one day, but we need to understand the reality.
Then the parents can see the positive difference in child’s development.
What do you think is the hardest thing to master on your instrument?
As all we know Bach composed well tempered clavier book , and the word tempered is the key.
As we can see there’s keyboard on the piano, you push the key and it produces sound, on traditional violin we don’t have key board but fingerboard or “griph” ,as well before each time we pay we tune instrument that means we temper instrument so where is half step where is whole step?,It varies from instrument to instrument, so this proves that our instrument is not “well “tempered “.thus we tune it always, and besides that the steps...so that makes intonation one of the most important aspects in violin playing and ,because violin playing is coordinated work between right hand and left hand so plus to intonation you need good sound production as well, and for that is responsible right hand. These are some things that you could tell are not easy if there’s no control
Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
I was lucky enough to study with my two great teachers.
Both of them studied Russian school, with the same traditions as Ivan Galamian did study, and, as we know he was the teacher for many Great musicians who are world Class violinists
At the time, I started to take lessons with my first teacher she was systematically practicing with me and if I would have a difficulty in understanding something she would help and encourage me to overcome that smal difficulties, which,by the way developed in me the good thing, which was to accomplish the task and to learn new things, ,so my teacher’s consistent approach to teaching process, and her encouragement inspired me to go in to music.
When did you decide to become a professional musician? Was it a gradual decision or was there a defining moment for you?
I started to play when I was 5and half years old.and after 7 years of studying,I decided to change my school , to specialized music school and after I graduated from that school where I studied music history ,violin teaching methodology, theory and harmony,After that I was already 100%sure that I am going to Conservatory.
